Participate in the Student Barometer 2022!
Are you a student in higher education? You are invited to participate in the Student Barometer 2022!
Student Barometer is a survey aimed at students in higher education. Its purpose is to collect information on students’ experiences and opinions of their studies, student life, and everyday life. Information produced by Student Barometer is used in work to develop student wellbeing, student activities, the quality of teaching, higher education internships, studies and reports on working life and living, and educational institutions. By responding to the survey, you are participating in discussions about topics that affect student life!
Student Barometer is repeated data collection carried out by the Research Foundation for Studies and Education Otus sr. The 2022 Student Barometer is the fifth time that data has been collected. Data was last collected in spring 2019.
Data will be collected by means of an electronic survey form in February and March 2022. The target group comprises students studying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finland at that time (excl. the National Defence University, the Police University College, and vocational teacher education colleges). An invitation to the study will be provided via higher education institutions to everyone in the target group; everyone who is eligible is welcome to participate. You can respond to the survey in Finnish, Swedish, or English.
The basic results of Student Barometer will be published in 2022 as an open Power BI database. Various reports on different topics will also be published. The collected data will be used for research purposes, for various reports, and, for example, to support public discussion and decision-making. When the project ends in 2023, the collected material will be handed over to the Finnish Social Science Data Archive for free use.
Students respond to the survey anonymously and their data will not be combined with data from other sources. The research material therefore only comprises data submitted by respondents. Results will be published in such a way that it will not be possible to identify an individual respondent. The anonymity of the material to be archived will be reviewed, and if necessary, the material will be processed so that it will not be possible to identify individual respondents, even indirectly. Participation in the study is voluntary. Otus is committed to complying with the Finnish National Board on Research Integrity TENK’s guidelines for responsible conduct of research and the ethical principles of research with human participants.
Responding to the survey takes around 30–45 minutes. The survey will open on 9.2.2022 at the address https://link.webropol.com/s/ob2022
