JAMKO's own student benefits

JAMKO Café

JAMKO Café at Main Campus gives 10 % discount of all cafeteria products with the JAMKO membership card. Student priced coffees, teas and hot chocolates can be acquired with a prepaid coffee/tea/cocoa pass.
Members can reserve the café for private events outside opening hours.

Sport services

Members are welcome to use JAMKO gym for free. A valid student card must be kept at hand while training. Gym locates at the Main Campus, D-wing’s basement floor. Check out more information.

You can verify your student status at Main Campus and Dynamo’s restaurants’ self service check-outs with Slice app and get the student priced meal.
You have the right to stand as a candidate and to vote in JAMKO Representatives’ Elections and have the possibility to work as an active JAMKO member.

With JAMKO’s membership, you get access to Slice, Finland’s largest student benefit service, as well as a digital student card, through which you can use versatile and nationwide Slice benefits. In the Slice app you can also find JAMKO’s own member benefits.

The JAMKO student union supervises the interests of its members at Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences in accordance with the law.

We influence JAMK’s institutions and working groups, we cooperate with the city of Jyväskylä in matters related to students and we bring the voice of students to be heard in municipal decision-making. Monitoring the rights of students and supporting them in situations of conflict is an integral part of the work of the student union. Big things are easier to solve through the student union. JAMKO’s Board and the advisors support e.g. in the following matters.

Questions about the quality of education and the organization of teaching.
Conflict situations e.g. with teachers.
Questions about the accessibility and accessibility of the university.
Disadvantages related to equality and non-discrimination.
Taking diversity into account and developing it at Jamk.

As a member, you can influence how work is done and what kind of things the student body promotes.

Student priced lunch

A hot meal in the student restaurant on weekdays costs around €2.95 – €5.60 depending on the meal option you choose. In student restaurants, the state subsidy per meal is €2.55.

Transport and travelling

Local transport in Jyväskylä

Full-time students over 25 years of age receive a discount on Jyväskylä local transport ticket products, such as the Student Waltti-Card. Student-priced ticket products can only be purchased only before hand at Linkki service points. For more information on local transport

National Railway VR

Get a 30% student discount on long-distance tickets and a 50% discount on VR commuter train tickets when you have a student card that entitles you to the discount. Please note that the student card must be valid aka have a semester validation for the current term. More info on student priced train tickets

Long distance busses

Discounts on bus tickets are company-specific. The discount conditions decided by the bus companies may differ both from the Matkahuolto discount conditions (-50%) and from each other, for example in terms of the discount percentage.
