JAMKO’s membership fee increases to maintain services and benefits

Student union JAMKO increases membership fee at the beginning of 2019. The increase is due to the renewal of information systems, like membership register and web store and sekä SAMOK’s membership fee that is subjected on student unions. The last increse was for the year 2015 and the increases have been moderate everytime.

“JAMKO representative’s council thought fit to increase the membership fee in the changing operational environment to ensure the quality of services and trusteeship. Assessing the impact of the changing operational environment and diverse student union, beforehand is challenging and JAMKO needs more versatile and modern services in the future. “, says Anni Lajunen, Chairperson of JAMKO representatives.

From the beginning of the year 2019, the membership fee for a new member for one semester is 27 euros. The sum contains the manufacturing costs of the student card. For a continuing member the fee is 22 euros per semester. In Autumn 2019 the increase will affect the whole years membership and the fee will be 40 euros for a new member (icl. card) and continuing member 35€.

Student union is constantly developing it’s services and benefits to meet the needs of it’s members. JAMKO has invensted in it’s member service and recruited a board member for cooperational work, who will develop membership benefits and aquire new one’s.

New digital student card Pivo is delayed

The implementation of the new digital student indentifier Pivo will be delayed to early March due to the difficulties in system’s schedule. In the meantime JAMKO’s members have the possibility to use the digital student card and it’s digital services via Frank. Frank’s digital student identifier is subjected to a charge. JAMKO will inform more about the development, scheduled change and the introduction of the new digital student card Pivo at the beginning of the year.
