JAMKO COUNCIL ELECTED FOR 2026

A new representative council has been elected for Student Union JAMKO for the 2026 term. There were 2,335 members eligible to vote, and a total of 332 JAMKO members cast their votes in the election. This means that the voting percentage was 14.22%. Last year’s voting percentage was 11.53. For most student unions at Finnish universities of applied sciences, the official election day is the same, November 5.

“The Representative elections have been held and the turnout increased compared to the previous elections. We came close to our turnout target, but it is always good when a larger proportion of people vote. If the turnout rate falls too low, one can always wonder which students are voting and whose voices are being heard. I am pleased that students have taken to the digital ballot box and made their contribution to JAMKO,” sums up Lauri Kujala, chair of the central election committee.

37 candidates and eight electoral alliances participated in the JAMKO elections, and seven candidates ran as non- aligned.
