37 confirmed candidates in the Representative elections!
The candidacy filing period for JAMKO’s representative elections has ended. This year, 10 electoral alliances were formed, 8 of which had eager candidates. The Central Election Committee confirmed these alliances at its meeting on October 8. By the deadline, 39 candidates had been nominated, 37 of whom were eligible.

“It’s great that we have such a diverse range of candidates and that so many people want to get involved in the student union. This is significant at a time when students have a lot on their plates and their studies and work are weighing heavily on them,” says Lauri Kujala, Chair of the Central Election Committee.
The candidates for the Representative Council will be presented on the website, social media, and the voting aid app, which will be published in week 43. In addition, candidates can introduce themselves at the election panel organized by JAMKO on Instagram Live on Tuesday, October 28.
21 actual members will be elected to the JAMKO Representative Council for 2026 by voting between October 27 and November 5. Voting will take place via an electronic link that will be sent to each JAMKO member by email.
