Eeva Vissel chosen as JAMKO’s guidance and well-being advisor

Student Union of Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences JAMKO has chosen Eeva Vissel chosen as the new guidance and well-being advisor.

Eeva Vissel starts in her position at the beginning of January.

Eeva Vissel is a youth and leisure instructor and studies to be a community educator in XAMK UAS. She currently works as the Chairperson of the Board in Student Union Kaakko. Vissel has been also the guidance and tutoring advisor’s substitute in Kaakko and also worked as the tutoring responsible in the Board in Student Union of Mikkeli UAS. Vissel has also made her Bachelor’s thesis about the developing of peer tutoring in South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences – XAMK and has participated in creating the model of tutoring in a new University of Applied Sciences. She has also a long experience in working in Youth Parliament.

“ I am waiting the future challenges of developing JAMKO’s tutoring with enthusiasm and interest. It is great to be a part of a student friendly work-environment in one of Finland’s biggest student cities” says Vissel.

28 persons applied for the position and 5 was interviewed. The application process was tough and the applicants highly qualified. The recruitment committee emphasized the orientation to guidance and perspective in developing it. The Advisor of Guidance and Well-being is responsible for JAMKO’s tutoring, recruitment and training of new tutors, developing peer guidance. The duties include matters of student well-being in the whole UAS.  

Eeva Vissel starts with orientation on Jan 3rd 2019.
