JAMKO actives for 2026 chosen!

The Board and Chairs of the Student Union of JAMKO for 2026 were elected on 10.-11.11.2025 at the organizing meeting of the Representative Council.

For the first time, the selection meeting was divided into two parts, so that the selections could be made in a more transparent and deliberate manner. The chairpersons were elected on 10 November and the chairpersons of the board made their proposal for the board to the Representative Council the following evening.

The Representative Council, elected in the Representative Council elections on 5 November, voted for Aamos Wilhelms as its Chairperson. Wilhelms is a third-year student of logistics and this year he is in charge of educational policy on JAMKO’s board. This year’s Cooperation responsible Hanna Rantakokko was elected as the Vice Chair of the Representative Council. She is in her fourth year of studying information and communication technology.

Fourth-year Business Information Technology student Charles Silvennoinen was elected as the Chair of the Board. He has been in charge of JAMKO’s international tutoring in 2025. The Chair of the Board is responsible for JAMKO’s administration and advocacy measures.

Third-year automation and robotics student Charles Ofili was elected as the Vice Chair of the student union and to lead the event and service activities. Ofili has worked as a deputy member of JAMKO’s Representative Council and as a student representative of EUDRES, Jamk’s social media ambassador and an ambassador for international students of the City of Jyväskylä.

There were a total of 14 applicants, 13 of whom were available at the time of admission. The Board will define the areas of responsibility in its organizing meeting on 20 November. The term of office of the new board will begin in January 2026, but familiarisation with the tasks will begin soon after the organisation.

The composition of the Representative Council changed as a result of the board elections. The size of the Representative Council in 2026 is 21 full members and 8 deputy members. Elina Herrala (Jammaajat), Eetu Heiska (Oiko), Reetta Gustafsson (Puvi), Tuhka Räihä (Tagro), Angelina Ignateva (Misfits), Eetu Ruotsalainen (Misfits), Peculiar Agaptus (Misfits) were elected as members of the Representative Council from the reserve positions.
