How could you benefit by working in the Representatives Council?

You can stand as a candidate for JAMKO’s Representative Council elections until 8.10 at 12.00. JAMKO’s Representative Council, elected from among the students, decides how JAMKO manages student affairs and how it uses resources in the higher education community. A wide range of students from different backgrounds and campuses are needed to ensure that the voice of all students is heard as well as possible in the higher education institution.

What are the benefits of Representative Council activities for a student?

Influence and learn from decision-making

  • You will be able to make decisions about students’ affairs and develop the higher education community.
  • You can see up close how decision-making works in a large organization.

Evolve and build the future

  • It takes a minimum of about 2–3 hours per month.
  • You can also delve deeper into the activities and utilise them in your studies – for example, through working groups, projects or the topic of the thesis.
  • Stands out in your CV, job search and can specify career plans.

Network and find a community

  • You will get to know new people across educational boundaries.
  • Activities in Finnish and English → language skills are strengthened.

You are enough!

  • No previous experience is required – the student’s opinions and thoughts are the most important.
  • A wide range of students from different campuses and backgrounds are needed.

By the deadline, a total of 10 electoral alliances have been formed in which candidates can stand as candidates. The total votes received by the electoral alliance improve an individual candidate’s chances of getting into the Representative Council. You can also stand as a candidate as an independent candidate.
