Vappu Kickstart

Vappu Kickstart is the opening party for JAMKO and JYY Minnan matka!

JAMKO’s and JYY’s Minnan matka aims to break all barriers separating the students of Jyväskylä and with that in mind the theme for this year’s Vappu Kickstart is THE MASQUERADE. We will be handing out masks at the door to the first few hundred people that need them. These masks will cover up all the assumptions, misconceptions and prejudices we students have about each other, allowing us to express our authentic selves and form new bonds with diverse student groups. 

Under the cover of the masks there will be special tasks and challenges you would be dared to complete and amazing prizes could be won from a raffle. There will be stands by various study associations where there will be various games and activities to explore. At the peak of the night, the chairs of the student councils will give a speech to honor and bless our Vappu celebrations and the Overall raising tradition for the month of April will begin. 

The Minnan matka passes will be given on arrival so you can begin your journey through this eventful month.

WHAT: Vappu Kickstart Masquerade

WHEN: April 1st, starting 9pm

HOW: Arrive as yourself or with a fetching mask. Free masks are given from the door as long as they last. 

The event is for all the students of Jyväskylä, free tickets can be reserved from Kide.app at a later date.
