Freshmen party 2026

Hey there, new and enthusiastic student—welcome to JAMKO’s Freshmen Party Fuksiaiset! Freshmen Party is an event for everyone starting their studies at Jamk UAS, where you’ll get to meet your fellow students and explore the wonderful city of Jyväskylä on a checkpoint tour! You’ll visit the checkpoints in groups of 6–10 people led by a tutor, and the three best-performing groups will be rewarded with an after-party at Bar London.

Are birds real? Is Bigfoot just a tall, hairy man? Did Aldrin and Armstrong really go to the moon? This year, Fuksiaiset will be held on September 10, and the theme of the event is conspiracy theories. You can dress up according to the theme, but of course, it’s not mandatory if you don’t want to. So come join us for an amazing celebration for new students, meet new people, and possibly win awesome prizes!

The event is a checkpoint tour around the city, which is done on foot. It’s worth keeping this in mind when choosing your outfit, especially your shoes.
