What higher education consortium? Welcome to the students’ seminar!

Come along to hear and discuss the higher education group formed by JYU and Jamk with other students and bring the student perspective to the development work!

JYY and JAMKO are jointly organizing a university group seminar aimed specifically at students on Wednesday, September 16th from 13:00 to 16:00. The seminar will be held at Ruusupuisto, RUUD104 (Alvar Aallonkatu 9).

The seminar is aimed specifically at student actives, such as board members of study field associations and educational organizations, student representatives, and council members of JYY and JAMKO and to everyone interested in how the Group influences the operations of higher education institutions. Feel free to join – it’s easy to get involved!

The seminar will feature the vice-rectors responsible for education at JYU and Jamk, as well as key preparatory personnel from the higher education group in a panel discussion. The seminar will also give you the opportunity to get to know other student activists and discuss issues related to the university group together, specifically from the students perspective.

Language of the seminar

• All seminar materials are bilingual, Finnish and English.
• The talks will be held mainly in Finnish. Let us know if you need an interpreter.
• Group work is possible bilingually.

Register by Monday, September 7th at 23:59 using this form so that we can reserve a suitable
number of items to serve for coffee. If you have not registered, and wish to participate, you are still welcome, but there will be no coffee reserved for you.

What is the higher education group?

• Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences and the University of Jyväskylä formed a higher education group when the University of Jyväskylä became the main owner of Jamk in early 2026.
• Now we are building a higher education group together and will determine in the coming years what a joint higher education group means in practice.
