Candidate nomination period for Council elections extended until Oct 7th!

By decision of the Central Election Committee, the candidate nomination period for JAMKO’s Representative Council elections has been extended until 7 October at 11:59 p.m. If you missed your chance to take part in decision-making on matters concerning students, now is your opportunity!

As a member of JAMKO’s Representative Council, you can influence matters concerning Jamk students and make the most important decisions affecting the Student Union. Getting involved at the heart of student life opens new doors, helps you build networks and looks great on your CV. You can also earn study credits for participating in the Representative Council!

Being a member of the Representative Council does not delay your studies or fill up your calendar. Depending on your interests, you can also take part in activities such as the university’s working groups. Especially now, as the new higher education group is being built, we need students from as many different backgrounds as possible to make sure the higher education institution of the future works for all of us.

Jamk students who have joined JAMKO for the 2026–2027 academic year are eligible to stand as candidates. The required nomination forms are available electronically on JAMKO’s election website and must be submitted before the nomination period ends.

You can stand as an independent candidate or join an electoral alliance. Votes received by an electoral alliance improve its candidates’ chances of being elected. The spokespersons of the established electoral alliances can assist candidates with election-related matters when needed.
