FSHS

The Finnish Students’ Healthcare Service (FSHS) produces student healthcare services to all students in higher education. This page contains the most important information regarding the FSHS, as well as links to the service providers’ websites for additional information.

Students who are entitled to use the services of FSHS are students who have registered as attending (present) and who are completing

  • a bachelor’s or master’s level degree earned in a university of applied sciences
  • a bachelor’s or master’s level university degree.

Exchange students, students at the Open University of Applied Sciences, or postgraduate students are not entitled to the services of FSHS.

Kela’s website provides information about the payment of the healthcare fee and its schedule. You will also find directions for using the online services of Kela and paying the healthcare fee.

A doctor at FSHS can also refer you to special medical care if needed. The personnel at FSHS always advises the student and helps them find the services they need.

Student healthcare fee

Starting from January 2021, students who are entitled to use the services of FSHS will pay a healthcare fee to Kela. The fee is 35,80€ per term in 2021, and it is paid twice a year to Kela.

The healthcare fee for the spring term 2021 should be paid by the 30th of January 2021. The fee can be paid in Kela’s e-services.

Students who have registered as present by January 31st, 2021: 31.1.2021

Students who have registered as present after January 31st, 2021: 31.7.2021

Autumn 2021

Students who have registered as present by September 30th, 2021: 30.9.2021

Students who have registered as present after September 30th, 2021: 31.12.2021
